I am by no means an expert in African technology trends. In my opinion, Africa seems to win and lose simultaneously when it comes to technology.
We win in the sense that sometimes we leapfrog technology advances, skip all the turmoil early adopters face, and gain all the benefits of maturer, better tech. An example is Mobile vs Landline(s).
We lose in the sense that we tend to be last in line (e.g. Covid Vaccines). In today’s context, let’s consider how Africa as a continent has the least Public Cloud Data Centres (I speak under correction, perhaps Antarctica has fewer).
When Digicloud Africa started on its journey of increasing distribution of Google Cloud in Africa, we at Deimos jumped on board. We believe that public cloud adoption in Africa will allow businesses to “leapfrog” over many troubled years of On-Premise infrastructure pains and gain unprecedented access to cutting-edge products and services on-demand.
Seeing Digicloud and her partners being recognised and awarded for her efforts at the Global level is an awesome achievement, and hopefully, it’s the first of many to come. These efforts will result in forward-thinking African businesses being able to benefit & gain from the incredible technological advances coming out of Google Cloud.
At Deimos, our mission is to be the leading cloud-native technology company in Africa; this includes helping businesses benefit and gain from investments into cloud modernisation efforts. It can be incredibly daunting as a business to make this move on your own as it is so easy to get it wrong.
We have successfully helped many enterprises, SMEs, and startups get the most out of the cloud over the last three years. Are you looking for a partner? Look no further: because we are expertly positioned to deliver:
